A Board meeting to consider the supplementary capital and preference dividends
for the above company was held at the registered address on 22nd November
2001.

The rate for the Supplementary Capital dividend is 39.7073p per Capital share
payable on 2nd January 2002 to shareholders on the register as at 30th
November 2001.

The rate for the Preference dividend is 5.5p per Preference share payable on
2nd January 2002 to shareholders on the register as at 30th November 2001.
