Rio Tinto announces that Rio Tinto Canada Inc. has repurchased for cancellation
the entire issue of its JPY 4,000,000,000 Medium Term Notes due 11 July 2007
(XS0150454188) for settlement on 11 July 2006.
Following such cancellation there will be no outstanding Notes of this issue.
