Rio Tinto plc - changes to directors' details

Further to the announcement made on 9 February 2010, Mr Robert Brown today joined the boards of Rio Tinto plc and Rio Tinto Limited as a non executive director. 

The Company has received notification from Mr Brown of the following matters under paragraphs 9.6.14 (1) of the UK Listing Rules:

Mr Brown has been a director of the publicly quoted companies listed below during the last 5 years:

Ace Aviation Holdings Inc. (2004 until 2009)

Allen-Vanguard Corporation (2003 until 2005)

CPVC Financial Inc. (2004 until 2006)

Nortel Networks Corporation (2000 until 2006)

The Company has also received notification that Mr Brown owns 550 Rio Tinto plc American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), equivalent to 2,200 Rio Tinto plc ordinary shares. Each ADR represents 4 ordinary shares.
