ERA chief executive


The Board of Directors of Energy Resources of Australia Ltd is pleased to
announce that the General Manager Operations - Chris Salisbury will assume the
role of Chief Executive of the company on 1 February 2007. He replaces Harry
Kenyon-Slaney who has led the company for the past three years during a period
of major change in the uranium industry and who is returning to Rio Tinto.


This change in leadership, which is the culmination of an orderly succession
plan, will take effect following the ERA Board meeting on 31 January at which
Harry Kenyon-Slaney will resign as a director and Chris Salisbury will be
appointed.
