Rio Tinto PLC 03 September 2003 Rio Tinto Energy Preston Chiaro, president and chief executive officer of Rio Tinto Borax, has been appointed chief executive of the Rio Tinto Energy product group in succession to Greg Boyce. Mr Boyce has resigned to take up a position with Peabody Energy in the United States. Chiaro Mr Chiaro is an environmental engineer with Bachelor of Science, Environmental Engineering and Master of Engineering degrees. He joined the Group in 1991 and in 1995 became vice president and general manager of Boron Operations, California's largest mine and mineral processing facility.
