Mr Charles Bailey, a director of RIT Capital Partners plc ('RITCP'), today
advised the Company that he purchased a beneficial interest in 2,500 RITCP
ordinary shares on 26 March 2002 at 424p. Following this purchase, Mr Bailey's
total interest in RITCP ordinary shares is 5,500 shares with a beneficial
interest.
