RIT Capital Partners plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Rick Sopher as a non-executive director with immediate effect.

Rick is the Managing Director of LCF Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management and is Chairman of the Board of Management of Leveraged Capital Holdings NV ("LCH"), the flagship investment vehicle of the Edmond de Rothschild Group, as well as several related multi-manager funds. LCH was the first ever fund of hedge funds and has achieved exceptional returns of 12.8% per annum, net of fees, since its launch in 1969. LCH and the investment vehicles led by Rick have assets under management of $3.0 billion, have made profits for shareholders of $2.3 billion and have been the subject of numerous industry awards.

Rick was awarded the Chevalier de la Legion d' Honneur by President Chirac in 2007.

1.   Mr Sopher is not currently a director of any other UK publicly quoted companies and there are no past directorships of UK public companies held in the past five years.

2.   There are no details requiring disclosure under paragraphs 9.6.13R (2) to (6) of the UKLA Listing Rules.

3.   Mr Sopher has no beneficial interest in the ordinary shares of the Company.
