NEW APPOINTMENTS TO ROYAL LONDON BOARD

Royal London announces the appointment of two Non-Executive Directors to its Board.

Lynne Peacock has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director and Deputy Chair of the Board. Ms Peacock brings over 25 years' senior management experience, much of which she has gained in the financial services industry. She is currently senior independent director on the boards of Serco Group plc and TSB Banking Group plc, a board member at International Distributions Services plc (formerly Royal Mail plc) and chairs the charity Learning Disability Network London.

The role of Deputy Chair is intended to strengthen the Board's expertise and experience and provide valuable support to the Chairman. Ms Peacock also becomes a member of the Remuneration Committee and of the Nominations and Governance Committee.

Nicky Richards has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Ms Richards spent 20 years of her executive career at Schroders and served four years as Group Chief Investment Officer at Fidelity. She currently sits on the board of Redwheel (formerly RWC Partners) and is also a member of the Investment Sub-Committee of King's College London, which oversees the University's investment policy and processes.

Ms Richards becomes a member of the Nominations and Governance Committee and succeeds Ian Dilks OBE as Chair of the Investment Committee.

Kevin Parry OBE, Chairman of Royal London, said:

"I'm very pleased to welcome Lynne Peacock and Nicky Richards to our Board. Lynne is a hugely experienced non-executive director, with extensive expertise in chairing and serving on remuneration committees. Nicky brings a breadth of business leadership and investment experience, having acquired deep investment knowledge from senior positions at both Schroders and Fidelity. Both appointments will bring new perspectives to our Board as we continue to build a modern mutual focused on customers' long-term interests."
