RM agrees £7m contract extension with Leeds City Council
RM has reached agreement with Leeds City Council to extend the scope of its BSF
(Building Schools for the Future) ICT contract to include a further four
secondary schools. The Group announced in May 2007 that it been appointed by the
Council as Strategic ICT Partner for its fourteen-school BSF programme.
The four recently-built additional schools, which are not part of the Council's
BSF building programme, will receive the same sophisticated managed ICT service
as those schools included in the initial contract. They will also benefit from
the strategic ICT development advice and accredited continuing professional
development service which RM is providing to Education Leeds, Leeds City
Council's frontline education service.
Commenting on the contract confirmation, Tim Pearson, CEO of RM, said:
'Since we reached contractual agreement nine months ago, we've been working
closely with Education Leeds to make sure everything is in place to deliver
excellent ICT for the City's learners and teachers. Being chosen to provide ICT
for a further four secondary schools - outside of the BSF programme - reflects
the very positive reputation we're developing with educationalists in the City.'
Councillor Richard Harker, Leeds City Council's executive board member for
Learning, said:
'RM shares our vision and commitment to creating brilliant learning across
Leeds.
'By extending this partnership beyond our BSF schools we can make sure thousands
more of the City's young people benefit from the fantastic learning
opportunities which cutting edge technology brings.'
