Following the success of a pilot programme, RM's subsidiary, 3T Productions Ltd, will be developing a range of online programme materials - INDIGO - to help teachers to incorporate ICT in teaching six subjects. The Government's ongoing commitment to supporting the professional development of teachers continues today, with the announcement that funds have been dedicated to provide further online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) materials for teachers in an increasing range of subjects. INDIGO Visions for Teaching and Learning was developed by 3T Productions and successfully piloted in response to the DfES initiative to produce online professional development for the use of ICT in subject teaching. During the pilot phase, INDIGO, was the most extensive programme on offer. Aimed at Primary Literacy & Numeracy (Key Stages 1 and 2) and Science Key Stage 3 teachers, INDIGO was described by a pilot school teacher as: 'The best training we've had in over 20 years.' The programme included 30 curriculum-focused modules, each with a sample lesson and all the relevant resources required to deliver it. 3T worked with recognised experts in both subject teaching and ICT to create the structure and design of INDIGO, offering a practical approach to professional development built around learning objectives mapped to each subject framework. The success of the INDIGO pilot has led to the DfES awarding 3T two additional contracts - one to extend and develop the programme materials for the subject areas listed above, and another to create new INDIGO materials for the following four subjects at Key Stage 3: English; Design and Technology; Modern Foreign Languages; and ICT. Tim Pearson, CEO of RM said: 'We are delighted to have been awarded these contracts and believe it confirms RM's position as one of the leading providers of multi-media within education.' INDIGO Visions for Teaching and Learning will be available for all the above subject areas by the beginning of the summer term 2003, with the exception of the D&T modules which will be released in September. -ENDS- For further information, please contact: Mike Greig/Phil Hemmings, RM plc 08709 200200 Andrew Fenwick/Fiona Fong, Brunswick 020 7404 5959 Notes to editors: 1.
