RM confirmed as ICT provider for Somerset schools programme

RM is pleased to confirm that financial close has been achieved with Somerset County Council for a contract to provide managed ICT services for three schools in Somerset within the BSF (Building Schools for the Future) Programme. RM will deliver the services as part of a consortium led by BAM. The Group previously announced on 23 February 2010 that the BAM consortium had been appointed preferred bidder for the programme.

The contract is expected to be worth £4.2m to RM over five years.  The Managed Service will commence in Autumn 2012. RM will provide a sophisticated managed service to schools, including in-school hardware, networking and communications services, and day-to-day management and support. In addition, RM will offer its Kaleidos learning platform, EasyTrace access control and cashless catering products, and a continuing professional development programme.

Terry Sweeney, Chief Executive of RM, said:

"It's great news that we have been able to reach financial close for the 'sample' schools in the Somerset schools programme. We look forward to working with our partners in the BAM consortium, with teachers in Somerset and with Somerset County Council, to provide great learning environments for pupils in Bridgwater."
