RM selected as ICT provider for Hackney BSF Project
RM has been selected by the London Borough of Hackney to provide ICT services to
the Borough's BSF (Building Schools for the Future) project. RM will provide the
services as part of the mpb education consortium, which has been appointed
preferred bidder for the project.
Hackney's BSF programme covers six secondary schools and three special schools
in total, and will be delivered in three phases. The initial phase covers three
schools and 3,350 pupils.
RM will be responsible for designing and delivering an innovative ICT managed
service, which includes cashless catering and access control, as well as
in-school ICT systems, learning platform integration and a shared data centre.
The Group will also provide educational consultancy to support the effective
educational use of ICT.
Commenting on the contract, Tim Pearson, CEO of RM, said:
'It's great news that Hackney has chosen RM to provide ICT for their BSF
project. Along with our partners in the mpb education consortium, we look
forward to delivering 21st Century learning environments that make a real
difference for pupils in Hackney.
'We've been selected for seven BSF projects so far, as well as a BSF 'One School
Pathfinder', establishing ourselves as a leading provider to the programme -
both in ICT-only and consortium projects. We're now into the delivery phase of
several of these projects and are investing in developing a strong operational
capability, which will allow us to offer high levels of customer satisfaction.'
Cabinet Member for Children's Services, Cllr Rita Krishna said:
'High quality ICT is essential for education in the twenty first century. RM,
as part of the mpb education consortium, will deliver, with Hackney Council and
the Learning Trust, the new buildings and technology which will support the high
aspirations of Hackney's school children.'
