RM selected to provide on-screen marking services for the International Baccalaureate
RM and the International Baccalaureate (IB) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) covering the development and delivery of an e-marking service for the IB's range of qualifications.
RM Assessment, RM's specialist exam services division, has been working with the IB for the past year, piloting e-marking services. The MOU formalises this relationship and provides a structure for RM and the IB to enter into a long-term strategic partnership. Subject to successful development of the service, RM anticipates entering into a multi-year contract with the IB for the delivery of marking support services.
IB Director General, Jeffrey Beard, said:
'With the anticipated five-fold growth of IB programmes between now and 2020, at the IB we need to modernise the way in which we handle marking. Working with RM will allow us to maintain the quality and reliability of our assessment operations and at the same time serve many more schools.'
Terry Sweeney, Chief Executive of RM, said:
'We are delighted to establish this new and important relationship with IB, one of the world's most important providers of qualifications. In scoris®, our on-screen marking solution, we have an outstanding piece of intellectual property, and our Assessment division is building an enviable reputation for delivery. The IB is the first major international customer for RM Assessment and demonstrates that our e-marking capability has genuine global potential.'
