ROBERT WALTERS PLC - ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
AGM Statement
Mr Timothy Barker, Chairman, Robert Walters plc, speaking at today's Annual
General Meeting, said:
'Net fee income for the Group as a whole is ahead of the comparable period
last year. The Banking and IT divisions of our business are feeling the
impact of clients' head count freezes imposed in reaction to economic
uncertainty. This is balanced by growth in Commerce and in Contract which is
operating at improved margins. Resource Solutions has enjoyed a series of
notable account wins. The Dunhill acquisition, completed in April, is
performing in-line with management expectations.
'In responding to the uncertain macro-economic outlook, Robert Walters has
already taken advantage of the flexibility of its cost base, and the benefit
of several additional initiatives will begin to flow through in the second
half. The Board anticipates first half performance in-line with the same
period last year, prior to the inclusion of Dunhill.'
