                          TEVET-2 PRELIMINARY RESULTS,
                              OFFSHORE MAURITANIA


ROC advises that the PSC Area B Tevet-2 exploration-appraisal well has reached a
depth of 2,785 metres measured depth below rotary table and logging operations
are underway.

The well has drilled through the Miocene channel sand system which constitutes
the shallower of the well's two objectives. The well will now be deepened to
test a separate Cretaceous target with a planned total depth of approximately
3,965 metres.

Preliminary information from drilling and log results to date suggest that the
well has encountered hydrocarbon-bearing sands in a sequence that bears
comparison to the equivalent channel section drilled by the 2004 discovery well
(Tevet-1) approximately 3km to the north.

Further comment regarding the significance of Tevet-2 cannot be made until
additional information being acquired has been analysed and completed.
