NewMedia SPARK plc announces Board Changes
NewMedia SPARK plc ('SPARK') announces that Mark Slater and Roger Parry have
resigned as non-executive Directors from the Board of SPARK. SPARK's brokers,
Collins Stewart, have placed Mr Slater's and Mr Parry's shareholdings of
30,161,642 ordinary SPARK shares with a range of institutional investors and
with Michael Whitaker, CEO of SPARK. Mr Slater retains a beneficial interest
in 493,000 ordinary SPARK shares through his pension scheme.
Tom Teichman, Chairman of SPARK, commented:
'Roger and Mark joined the Board in January 2001 following our acquisition of
Internet Indirect. We would like to thank Mark and Roger for their contribution
to the Board during the past year.
'We are pleased that it has been possible to place their shares at the market
price with a range of leading institutional investors and that the placing was
over-subscribed.'
Mark Slater said:
'I am resigning in order to focus on developing my other business interests.
SPARK has weathered the storm and I wish the company every success in the
future as the portfolio matures.'
Roger Parry said:
'Over the past year I have learnt a great deal about the early stage
investment business from the SPARK team. I have enjoyed working with them and
wish them the best for future success. I will follow the company's progress
with great interest. '
