NewMedia SPARK invests further £1m in
Digital Animations Group plc
NewMedia SPARK plc ('SPARK') announces that it has agreed to
invest a further £1m as part of the £12m placing at 150p per
share announced today by Digital Animations Group plc
('Digital Animations').
As a result of this further investment, SPARK'S shareholding
in Digital Animations will increase to 3.67m shares. Digital
Animations was the first investment made by SPARK following
SPARK's stock market launch in October 1999, and SPARK's
original £300,000 investment in Digital Animations now has a
market value of approximately £5.5m.
Commenting on this further investment Michael Whitaker, CEO
of SPARK, said:
'We are pleased to be supporting this fund raising by
Digital Animations, which will provide the company with the
funds required to take advantage of the substantial range of
opportunities now opening up to it following its involvement
in the ground breaking Ananova virtual news reader project.
We look forward to the formal launch of the Ananova project
and to the use of the innovative technology which lies
behind it in a range of other potential applications.'
