NewMedia SPARK invests £400,000 in SafeLogic AB
NewMedia SPARK Plc, Europe's leading quoted early stage technology investor,
today announces that it has invested £400,000 (SKr 5.9m) in SafeLogic AB, an
analytical software development Company. Krister Nilsson and Peter Lindgren,
Directors of SPARK's Stockholm office will be joining the Safelogic Board.
SafeLogic is developing software for the analysis and verification of large
systems in the electronics, automotive and aerospace sectors. Use of good
software tools in this area can save the manufacturers and designers the huge
expense incurred by costly prototyping, redesign and even product recall. In
addition, the Company's solutions will address the e-commerce software market.
SafeLogic AB is based in Goteborg, Sweden. The company was founded in 1999
by Claes Strannegard, Phd, who identified novel solutions to commercial
problems while conducting academic research into mathematical logic.
Krister Nilsson, Director of NewMedia SPARK Sweden, said:
'We are pleased to be further building the Scandinavian element of the
portfolio with this investment in Safelogic. There is clear demand for more
effective software tools and solutions to improve the design and reliability
of complex systems. The Safelogic team has exceptional academic credentials
and a keen grasp of the commercial possibilities arising from their work.
SPARK will be working with the team to accelerate the development and
commercialization of SafeLogic's innovative solutions.'
Claes Stannegard, Chief Executive of Safelogic AB said:
'Spark's investment enables SafeLogic to speed up the development processes
and move more rapidly towards commercialization of our software for complex
systems analysis. SafeLogic will furthermore benefit greatly from SPARK's
strategic business expertise, which nicely supplements the company's core
competence in mathematical logic and automatic theorem proving.'
