Norish PLC
01 May 2003
NEW CHAIRMAN AT NORISH
Mr Ted O'Neill and Mr William McCarter were elected to the Board of Norish at
the AGM in Dublin today. The Chairman, Mr John Paterson did not offer himself
for re-election and resigned as a director to pursue personal interests. Mr
O'Neill was appointed Chairman at a meeting of the directors following the AGM.
Mr McCarter has also been appointed Senior Independent Non-Executive Director.
Mr O'Neill is a former Managing Director of IMARI and is an experienced
businessman. Mr McCarter is Chairman of the International Fund for Ireland and a
Director of Cooley Distillery.
Mr Paterson said he was pleased that Norish had succeeded in attracting
directors of the calibre of Mr O'Neill and Mr McCarter. 'I agreed to accept the
Chairmanship of the Board on an interim basis following the resignation of Brian
Joyce last year. Now that we have appointed new directors of calibre and that
Ted O'Neill has agreed to take on the position of Chairman, it is an appropriate
time for me to stand down.'
