Rolls-Royce PLC 23 July 2002 23 July 2002 ROLLS-ROYCE TRENT 700 TO POWER ADDITIONAL A330s FOR CIT AEROSPACE Rolls-Royce today (23 July 2002) announced that it has received US$75 million worth of Trent 700 engine business for three Airbus A330-200 aircraft ordered by CIT Aerospace, a unit of CIT Group Inc. C. Jeffrey Knittel, President, Aerospace, CIT Aerospace, and Charles Cuddington, Managing Director - Airlines, Rolls-Royce, signed the contract during a ceremony at the Farnborough Air Show. With today's announcement, the US-based aircraft leasing company has now selected the Trent 700 to power 80 per cent of its A330 fleet. The company's current Rolls-Royce-powered fleet includes three A330s, with a fourth to be delivered in 2002; one Boeing 777, and nine Boeing 757s. Charles Cuddington said: 'CIT Aerospace is a valued customer whose repeat business is a strong reflection of the Trent 700's continued success in the A330 market.' Firm orders for Trent 700-powered aircraft total 134, representing a 37 per cent share of the A330 market. The Trent 700 engine is in service with 23 customers. CIT Aerospace has more than 90 airline customers worldwide and a portfolio of more than 250 commercial aircraft from all major aircraft manufacturers.
