ROLLS-ROYCE WINS EXCLUSIVE £180 MILLION
BRITANNIA 757 ENGINE OVERHAUL DEAL
Rolls-Royce plc has signed a £180 million aero engine repair and overhaul
contract with Britannia Airways, the UK's largest charter operator, to
maintain its fleet of RB211-535E4-powered Boeing 757 aircraft.
This exclusive ten year contract involves the maintenance of Britannia's
RB211-535E4 engines on its fleet of 22 Boeing 757-200s. The work will be
carried out at Rolls-Royce in Derby.
Ian Lloyd, Managing Director, Aero Repair and Overhaul, for Rolls-Royce said:
'This latest contract extends our valuable and long standing relationship with
Britannia. The airline has an excellent reputation for reliability in the
global charter market and we are fully committed to supporting its operation.'
Peter Buckingham, Managing Director, Britannia Airways said: 'A well serviced
maintenance base is vital to the success of our operation and Rolls-Royce has
demonstrated that it provides a comprehensive level of support together with a
tailored approach to aftermarket services.'
Rolls-Royce has provided engine support services for Britannia since the early
nineties when the airline first entered service with Rolls-Royce RB211-535E4
engines on its Boeing 757s. These aircraft operate from several airports in
the UK to destinations in the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands while
Britannia's fleet of Boeing 767s serve destinations in the USA, Caribbean,
Mexico and the Far East.
