ROTALA PLC
NEW CONTRACTS
The board of Rotala plc ('Rotala' and the 'Company') is pleased to announce that
over the course of last week and this week the main operating subsidiaries of
Rotala, Flights Hallmark Limited and Zak's Bus and Coach Services Limited
('Zaks') have been awarded a total of thirteen new contracts across a wide
variety of routes. On an annualised basis, these new contracts will generate,
in aggregate, revenues of some £2,710,000.
We are particularly pleased to have been awarded prestigious Park and Ride
contracts in the Bristol area by Bristol City Council and Park and Ride Ltd (an
NCP subsidiary), which run for five years. In the West Midlands our local
authority transport body, Centro, has also awarded us a number of new contracts,
which vary from one to three years in duration. Other notable awards include
those from Worcestershire County Council, Aston Villa FC and The Green Bus.
These awards mark a significant step forward for Rotala in building its
operations organically in addition to growing by acquisition. The breadth and
depth of these new routes underlines the Company's commitment to increase its
turnover and to become a significant force in transport operations in its chosen
locations. These awards are comfortably in excess of our 2007 annual budgeted
targets for such new routes.
The activities of our recent bus acquisitions, Zaks and Birmingham Motor
Traction, have been moved to our freehold site at Long Acre, Birmingham.
Integration has gone well and we are planning to enhance further our bus
operations in the West Midlands by building on this excellent platform.
John Gunn, Chairman of Rotala, commented 'Our executive team is to be
congratulated on achieving this impressive number of new contracts. As is
clear, the difficulties of 2005 and 2006 are now behind us and we look forward
to creating a significant transport company in the years to come, based on our
original business model of well-targeted acquisitions taken together with the
organic growth they can attract.'
