Electrocomponents Chairman to stand down
Electrocomponents plc announces that its Chairman, Mr Helmut Mamsch, has decided, for personal reasons, not to stand for re-election at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting in July.
Helmut said: "I will be leaving the Group at a time the results show that the business is firmly on the path to recovery and that our strategy is working well. I would like to wish the management team continued success in the future."
Rupert Soames, the Senior Independent Director, commented: "All of Helmut's colleagues on the Board would like to thank him for his valuable contribution as Chairman; during his tenure the company has made significant improvements on a number of fronts, and is now well positioned to make further progress. The recruitment of his successor is in hand and we hope to be able to announce the name of the new Chairman around the time of the Annual General Meeting."
In the event that the new Chairman is not available to take up his appointment immediately after the AGM, Rupert Soames will become acting Chairman until the new Chairman is appointed.
