ELECTROCOMPONENTS PLC
Investor update on new Global Offer function
Electrocomponents plc, the world's leading high service distributor of electronics and maintenance products, is today updating analysts and investors on its new Global Offer function. No new trading information will be disclosed. Established in September 2012 as a key part of Electrocomponents' new organisation structure, the Global Offer function comprises the Group's product and stock management, pricing and supply chain activities.
Electrocomponents' new global organisation structure enables a more integrated approach to servicing its worldwide base of over one million customers. Structural trends in the markets in which the Group operates lend themselves to a global approach, and the new global operating model will enable the business to accelerate the implementation of its strategic initiatives, drive efficiencies and deliver a higher rate of long-term growth.
The update will feature a presentation by Chris Page, Global Offer Director, on the changes being made to the way in which the Group will manage and deliver its product range in the coming years in order to get more products to more customers more reliably. The Group believes that these changes will allow the business to drive a higher rate of sales growth and a higher return on stock, and are central to the delivery of the Group's medium-term growth ambitions.
The update will also feature a demonstration of Raspberry Pi, the low-cost, credit card-sized computer board designed and developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. The Group recently signed a new global distribution agreement with The Raspberry Pi Foundation to sell Raspberry Pi's worldwide.
A copy of the presentation will be made available on the corporate website at www.electrocomponents.com
