Aortech International plc ('the Company') announces that it received
notification yesterday that following purchases of shares, Friends Ivory & Sime
plc has a revised notifiable interest in 4,044,221 Ordinary Shares of 25 pence
each in the Company representing approximately 10.61% of the issued ordinary
share capital. Friends Provident Life Office, as the holding company of Friends
Ivory & Sime plc, is also interested in the shares. Various fund management
companies of the Friends Provident Group are also interested in the
aforementioned shares through client holdings including the material interest
referred to below:
