RWS Holdings plc
AGM Statement
RWS Holdings plc (RWS), Europe's leading provider of intellectual property
support services (patent translations and searches) and technical translations,
is today holding its Annual General Meeting.
Andrew Brode, Executive Chairman, will make the following remarks at the AGM:
'The financial year ended 30 September 2007 was another year of strong organic
growth, with all of the Group's business areas performing well. This organic
growth was complemented by the acquisition, in June 2007, of Japanese Language
Services Limited which is trading ahead of our expectations as part of the
Group.
'The current financial year ending 30 September 2008 has started well, with the
Group's first quarter performance ahead of our expectations reflecting continued
robust trading and the favourable effect of a strong Euro.
'As previously stated, our strategy is to complement organic growth by deploying
the Group's cash resources for selective acquisitions which have demonstrable
growth prospects and enhance shareholder value. To that end, we have today
announced the acquisition of Document Service Center Technische Uebersetzungen
und Software-Lokalisierung, a leading German provider of technical translations
to a broad base of German and Swiss corporates, which will be immediately
earnings enhancing.
'The Group has a strong financial position, good forward sales visibility and is
making excellent progress with its plans to more than compensate for the effects
of the London Agreement by organic expansion and selective acquisitions financed
by our existing cash resources. We are, therefore, confident that our chosen
strategy will deliver continued growth in 2008 and that the dividend will
advance in line with that growth.'
