New Route

Ryanair Holdings PLC 27 February 2002 Ryanair annouces summer schedule AND A NEW route FROM DUBLIN to aberdeen Ryanair, Europe's largest low fares airline today (27th February) announced details of its 2002 Summer Schedule, which will see over 3 million low fare seats on offer from Dublin. The airline also announced the commencement of a new daily service from Dublin to Aberdeen from the 4th April. This marks the first direct link between Dublin and the North East of Scotland and brings Ryanair's total UK routes from Dublin to 14. Speaking at the launch in Dublin today, Ryanair's Head of Communications, Enda O'Toole said: 'Ryanair is once again providing unbeatable value for Irish consumers to Britain, Paris and Brussels this year. We are particularly pleased to launch our new daily service to Aberdeen, which strengthens our position as the leading low fares carrier in Scotland and also establishes the first direct link between Dublin and the North East of Scotland. Unfortunately, due to the inane policies of Aer Rianta and our inept Minister for Public Enterprise, Ryanair will not be offering any new European routes to Irish consumers from Dublin this year despite the fact that it has already launched 17 successful routes from London and Germany this year.' 'Ryanair continues to deliver the lowest fares on every route we operate and our Irish and UK consumers particularly appreciate this as evidenced by the fact that Ryanair is now the largest operator on the Dublin/London market, ahead of Aer Lingus and holds the largest market share on every UK provincial route that it fly's in competition with Aer Lingus or any other carrier. Ryanair's unbeatable value continues to attract more and more passengers at lower and lower fares throughout Europe, which last year saved consumers over €1.5bn.' ENDS.
