Appointment of a director and retirement of two directors.

Safeland plc ('Safeland' or the 'Company') is pleased to announce the appointment of Edward George Young as a non-executive director with effect from 30 June 2008. In addition, the Company announces that Leonard Green and Richard Pryce, non-executive directors of Safeland, will be retiring and leaving the board with effect from the same day.

Edward Young, aged 65, qualified as a solicitor in 1968 after graduating from University College London. He has extensive experience in commercial property law and practice and recently retired as a senior partner and member of PCB Lawyers LLP, a central London firm of solicitors. He is senior legal adviser to a major publishing group and is a non-executive director of Leo Insurance Services plc and other private companies.
