Safestore Holdings plc announces the following directorate changes:
Resignation of Non-Executive Director
Further to the Company's announcement on 16 March 2022, Claire Balmforth will resign as a Non-Executive Director and as Chair of the Remuneration Committee with effect from 31 May 2022.
Non-Executive Director appointment
Safestore is pleased to announce that Jane Bentall has been appointed as an independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 18 May 2022.
Jane has extensive experience and understanding of operating multisite, consumer-led businesses. Most recently, Jane was Managing Director of Haven, the UK holiday parks chain and largest business division of Bourne Leisure. Prior to becoming Managing Director of Haven, she was the Group Chief Financial Officer for 12 years and previously spent six years as Operations Director. In her career she has also held senior financial roles at the Rank Group, the UK gambling group.
Jane is a director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee of Oakman Inns plc, a consultant for Blackstone and a member of Pilotlight.
Jane is an ACA qualified accountant and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Committee Composition
Jane has been appointed as a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees with effect from 18 May 2022.
Laure Duhot will be appointed as Chair of the Remuneration Committee and will step down as a member of the Audit Committee with effect from 1 June 2022.

· Safestore is the UK's largest self-storage group with 178 stores at 30 April 2022, comprising 130 wholly owned stores in the UK (including 72 in London and the South East with the remainder in key metropolitan areas such as Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle and Bristol), 29 wholly owned stores in the Paris region, 4 stores in Barcelona, 9 stores in the Netherlands and 6 stores in Belgium.
· Safestore operates more self-storage sites inside the M25 and in central Paris than any competitor providing more proximity to customers in the wealthiest and more densely populated UK and French markets.
Safestore was founded in the UK in 1998. It acquired the French business "Une Pièce en Plus" ("UPP") in 2004 which was founded in 1998 by the current Safestore Group CEO Frederic Vecchioli.
· Safestore has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 2007. It entered the FTSE 250 index in October 2015.
· The Group provides storage to around 90,000 personal and business customers.
· As at 30 April 2022, Safestore had a maximum lettable area ("MLA") of 7.667 million sq ft (excluding the expansion pipeline stores) of which 6.186 million sq ft was occupied.
· Safestore employs around 750 people in the UK, Paris and Barcelona, the Netherlands and Belgium.
