The Sage Group plc announces acquisition of Sesam for £11.1 million
The Sage Group plc ('Sage'), the leading supplier of accounting software,
today announces that it has completed the acquisition of Softinc Ltd, trading
as Sesam, based in Switzerland, for a cash consideration of £11.1 million.
Sesam produces PC accounting software, which it sells through its reseller
channel to small and medium-sized businesses based in Switzerland. The
acquisition provides Sage with a market leading position in the Swiss market.
In the year to 31 December 1998, Sesam's turnover was £4.4 million and it
currently has an active customer base of 18,000.
