The Interim Results for J Sainsbury plc for the 28 week period ended 13
October 2001, will be announced on Wednesday 21 November 2001.

The Interim dividend will be paid on 11 January 2002 to shareholders on the
register at the close of business on 30 November 2001. The shares will go
ex-dividend on 28 November 2001.
