Sainsbury's has today (Wednesday 10th August) announced the appointment of Mark Horgan as its new Marketing Director.  Mark, who joins Sainsbury's from MasterCard where he is Managing Director of its Access Prepaid Worldwide subsidiary, will join Sainsbury's Operating Board reporting to Mike Coupe, Sainsbury's Group Commercial Director.

In his role at Sainsbury's, Mark will lead Customer Insights and Loyalty, Brand Communications and Non-Food Marketing. He has worked for a number of top brands and previous positions he has held include European CEO at The Number (118 118), Group Marketing & Strategy Director at MFI Group and Regional Brand Director at Mars Confectionery. His early career was spent at Nestle where he joined as a Physicist following his graduation from the University of Strathclyde.

Mike Coupe, Sainsbury's Group Commercial Director, said:

"Mark brings with him a wealth of experience and I am sure will be a real asset to the team. He has a fantastic background working for some of the world's high profile brands and he has the expertise needed to develop the brand and to be a great success at Sainsbury's."
