Appointment of Non-Executive Director

San Leon Energy Plc ("San Leon" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that Mr. Con Casey will be joining the Board of San Leon as Non-Executive Director. It is expected that Mr. Casey's appointment will become effective immediately after the Company's Annual General Meeting on 28 September 2012.

Mr Casey has an honours degree in Business Management  from Trinity College and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He has over 25 years' experience in advising companies in the natural resources sector as well as acting as adviser to a number of publicly quoted companies and semi-state organisations. He specialises in the area of corporate finance and is a founding partner of LHM Casey McGrath, one of Ireland's leading accountancy firms, as well as being a non-executive director, since 2000, of Petroceltic Plc, which is also quoted on AIM.

Mr. Casey's appointment will enable the Company to enhance the composition of its Board Committees as well as providing access to his considerable experience as a non-executive director.
