Main Dolomite Exploration Commenced - Spud of Lelechów-SL1 Well
San Leon Energy is pleased to announce that the Lelechów SL-1 well has spud as part of its two well exploration program on the Company's Nova Sol concession in Poland. The well is planned to reach an estimated total vertical depth of 1,090 meters and is expected to take less than 30 days to drill and evaluate. The well is being drilled by Diament Oil Exploration Ltd from Zielona Gora, Poland. The rig will then immediately move to drill Chesław-SL1, the second of the two wells. The primary target of the wells is the Permian aged Main Dolomite formation targeting near term oil production. As part of the drilling program the Company will take core across the entire Main Dolomite section and run an extensive geophysical evaluation program. The wells were located based upon detailed interpretation of the 170 km2 2010 Nowa Sol 3D seismic survey.
Oisin Fanning, Chairman of San Leon, commented:
"We are starting to see full realization of the last two years of diligent technical work and operation planning at Nowa Sol. The Nowa Sol drilling program is a very exciting development for us with the possibility of generating near term cash flow should we be successful. As a result of the sizable acreage that we have accumulated in this region any positive result is likely to have a significant impact."
