Walker Greenbank acquires the UK's leading
decorative stencils business
Walker Greenbank PLC, the wallcoverings and fabrics group, has acquired the
assets and business of Brushstrokes (of Oxford) Limited, the country's leading
manufacturer of stencils for the decorative trade.
The business has a strong market position with sales of over £2 million. Its
customers include B&Q, Focus Do-It-All, Great Mills and independent DIY
retailers. Walker Greenbank will place the management of Brushstrokes within
its existing Cirka wallpaper operations and transfer production to its site at
Loughborough. Cirka is a successfully growing wallpaper brand selling to
Homebase and Focus Do-It-All. The acquisition of Brushstrokes will broaden
Cirka's product offer and expand its customer base.
The purchase price for Brushstrokes is £250,000 and will be paid in cash.
David Medcalf, Chief Executive of Walker Greenbank said:
'This gives us an excellent opportunity to secure the future of Brushstrokes
and develop the existing customer relationships of Brushstrokes and Cirka to
the benefit of both brands.'
