Morris & Co wins Barbour contract
Walker Greenbank plc (AIM: WGB), the luxury interior furnishings group whose brands include Sanderson, Morris & Co, Harlequin, Scion and Zoffany, is pleased to announce that it has won an order from Barbour, the British clothing brand, for Morris & Co fabric for use in Barbour jackets and accessories.
The fabric, in two distinctive Morris & Co designs, will be used as the lining for a fashionable range of women's jackets in Barbour's autumn and winter collection 2012. The fabric will also be used for a matching range of handbags.
The two Morris & Co designs, Strawberry Thief and Marigold, are sourced from the Company's extensive archive of original Arts & Crafts designs. The two designs will be used in decorative versions of Barbour's enduringly popular wax and quilted jackets and also in tweed jackets, duffle coats and handbags.
The Morris & Co fabric is being produced for Barbour at Standfast and Barracks, Walker Greenbank's fabric printing factory in Lancaster.
The Barbour jackets and handbags featuring the Morris & Co designs will be made available from August this year. A preview is available at this link: http://www.rns-pdf.londonstockexchange.com/rns/5640Z_1-2012-3-18.pdf
John Sach, Walker Greenbank's Chief Executive, said: "We're really pleased to be working with Barbour as there's a natural fit between the British heritage of the Barbour and Morris & Co brands. We're also particularly pleased to see our fabrics being used in Barbour handbags, which reinforces the potential of our designs in uses far beyond interior decoration."
