Walker Greenbank PLC notes the announcement by Mr Wightman
that he has no intention of making an offer for Walker
Greenbank.

Viscount Thurso, Chairman of the Company said 'The Board is
very pleased that at long last Mr Wightman's real position is
clear.  He is now bound by the restrictions of the Takeover
Code from reactivating his persistent attempts to mount an
offer for the Company.

'We will now be able to focus our efforts on implementing our
strategy which we are confident will deliver value to all our
shareholders.'
