Walker Greenbank PLC
30 March 2000
WALKER GREENBANK PLC ('WALKER GREENBANK' OR 'THE COMPANY')
At the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held today, the resolution
to approve the acquisition of the Standfast/Barracks and Weavestyle businesses
was approved. The rejection of this resolution was a pre-condition referred to
in yesterday's announcement made on behalf of Charles Wightman, who is
considering an approach to the Board of Walker Greenbank to seek their
recommendation to a cash offer for the ordinary shares of the Company. This
pre-condition cannot now be met, and Charles Wightman is re-considering
whether to make the approach and at what price any subsequent offer might be
made. A further announcement will be made by close of business tomorrow,
Friday 31 March 2000.
