Appointment of Diogo da Silveira to the Board
Savannah Resources plc, the European lithium development company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Diogo da Silveira as independent non-executive director effective from 10 November 2022. On joining the Company Mr da Silveira will become a member of the Remuneration and Audit and Risk Committees.
Matthew King, Savannah's Chairman said: "I am delighted to welcome Diogo to the Board. Diogo is a highly experienced business leader with extensive experience in Portugal and Europe. We look forward in particular to leveraging his expertise in the primary industry sector, via his past role with leading Portuguese forestry operator, Navigator, whose operations faces similar permitting challenges to mining companies, and in the energy transition sector, through his role as Chair of Floene Energias. This appointment reinforces our role in Portugal's vital contribution to the global transition to renewable energy."
Diogo da Silveira, Savannah's new non-executive director said: "I am honoured to contribute to Europe's energy self-sufficiency journey through Savannah's development of lithium resources in northern Portugal. I hope to bring energy and mobility knowledge, sustainability experience, Portuguese insights, and European perspective to the Barroso Lithium Project. I am really excited to be part of such an important energy transition undertaking at such a unique time."
Mr Diogo da Silveira, a former McKinsey Partner, is a seasoned CEO and NED in multiple sectors across Europe. He also has considerable experience in funds' management, both Private Equity and Venture Capital. Recently Diogo started several entrepreneurial initiatives in last mile logistics, real estate, and sports. He is the Chairman of Floene Energias, the leading Gas DSO in Portugal. Over the last 20 years, Diogo has been the CEO of several listed and private companies, namely The Navigator Company, Açoreana Seguros, ONI telecom, Isoroy, Novis as well as Executive Director at Sonae Indústria, Sonaecom, ModeloContinente, Sonae Investimentos and BanifBank. He has been a European NED at Glunz, Tafisa, Optimus, BanifBank, WeDo and Bizdirect. Diogo was a management member of several Portuguese industrial associations such as CIP, APS, Celpa, Cotec and BCSD as well as of European, Brussels based, CEPI and Worlwide, Geneva based, WBCSD. He also serves the French Embassy in Portugal as Conseiller du Commerce Exterieur. Diogo is an Ingénieur from Ecole Centrale de Lille, a research Scholar from Berkeley and holds an MBA & IDP from INSEAD.

About Savannah
Savannah is the owner of the Barroso Lithium Project, located close to key infrastructure in Northern Portugal which contains the most significant spodumene lithium resource in Western Europe. Following a positive Scoping Study which outlined a conventional operation producing 175,000t of spodumene concentrate per annum, Savannah is progressing the development and environmental licencing of the Barroso Lithium Project.
