AGM Statement

Savills PLC 30 April 2002 For immediate release 30 April 2002 AGM STATEMENT At today's Annual General Meeting of Savills plc, the international property adviser, Chairman, Richard Jewson said: 'Property markets tend to start slowly at the beginning of the year however we are pleased that the Group has made a satisfactory start to 2002. 'Commercial leasing activity is still affected by the weaknesses of the corporate sector, however the investment market remains strong with both institutional and private investors now viewing property as an attractive asset class compared to equities and cash. Residential markets are firm and we have a particularly good current book of instructions. In Asia, the transactional markets continue to be weak but our business is firmly underpinned by the property and facilities management divisions. Financial Services made a strong start to the year. 'We believe that growing confidence and increased stability in the financial market can only help prospects for the property sector.'
