Retirement of Director

Schroder AsiaPacific Fund plc (the "Company") announces that The Hon. Rupert Carington retired as Chairman and as a Director of the Company, and did not seek re-election at the Annual General Meeting held earlier today.

The Board would like to take this opportunity to thank Rupert for his invaluable contribution to the Company over the last 20 years.  Mr Smith will succeed him as Chairman.
