Purchase of Shares For Cancellation

Schroder AsiaPacific Fund plc (the "Company") announces that on 29 July 2011 the Company purchased 150,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 222.0 pence per share.

Following this purchase of ordinary shares there are 145,921,120 ordinary shares and 29,011,527 subscription shares in issue. Each ordinary share carries one voting right; the subscription shares carry no voting rights. The total number of voting rights in the Company following this issue of ordinary shares is therefore 145,921,120.
