                      New Non-Executive Director Appointed

Henderson TR Pacific Investment Trust plc announces the appointment of Mr Hugh
Aldous, age 59, as a non-executive director with effect from 3 November 2003.

Hugh has been a partner of RSM Robson Rhodes LLP since 1976 and is Chairman of
Eastern European Trust plc, Craegmoor Limited and Tensim Limited and a director
of Elderstreet Millennium VCT plc. He is also a member of the Representative
Committee of the AITC.

Pursuant to the disclosure requirements of paragraphs 6.F.2.(a) to (g) of the
