Issue of Ordinary Shares

Asian Total Return Investment Company plc (the "Company") has today issued 75,000 Ordinary shares of £0.05 each from treasury at a price of £2.0575 per share. The shares rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares in issue.

Following this issue, the Company's issued Ordinary share capital consists of 74,331,141 ordinary shares, and an additional 10,873,671 shares are held in treasury. Accordingly, the total number of voting rights in the Company is 74,331,141.

The above figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
