Retirement of Director

Schroder Japan Growth Fund plc (the "Company") announces that as part of the refreshment of the Board, Mr Jonathan Taylor retired at the Annual General Meeting held earlier today and did not seek re-election as a Director of the Company.

The Board would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Taylor for his invaluable contribution to the deliberations of the Directors during his tenure in office.

As previously announced, Mrs Anja Balfour is now the Chairman of the Board and Mrs Belinda Richards the Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee.

In line with the recommendations of the UK Corporate Governance Code, Mrs Balfour will no longer be a member of the Audit and Risk Committee.
