Schroder Oriental Income Fund Limited (the 'Company') announces in accordance
with Listing Rule 9.6.14, that on 1 August 2006, Mr Christopher Sherwell, a
non-executive Director of the Company, has been appointed as a director of
Goldman Sachs Dynamic Opportunities Limited, which was admitted to listing on
the London Stock Exchange on 27 July 2006, and also as a director of Henderson
Global Property Companies Limited, which was admitted to listing on the London
Stock Exchange on 1 August 2006.  In addition, he has resigned from the Board of
GAM Diversity III Inc on 26 July 2006.
