Schroder Oriental Income Fund Limited (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Meader as a non-executive Director of the Company, with effect from 1 January 2016.

Mr Meader, 50, a Guernsey resident, is an independent director of investment companies, insurers and investment funds.  Until the autumn of 2012 he was Head of Portfolio Management for Collins Stewart based in Guernsey, prior to which he was Chief Executive of Corazon Capital.  He has 30 years' experience in financial markets in London, Dublin and Guernsey, holding senior positions in portfolio management and trading.  Prior to joining Corazon he was Managing Director of Rothschild's Swiss private-banking subsidiary in Guernsey.   Mr Meader is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investments, a past Commissioner of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission and past Chairman of the Guernsey International Business Association.  He is a graduate of Hertford College, Oxford.

Mr Meader currently holds directorships in the following publicly quoted companies: BlueCrest AllBlue Fund Limited, ICG-Longbow Senior Secured UK Property Debt Investments Limited and JP Morgan Global Convertibles Income Fund Limited (all Listed on the London Stock Exchange); Volta Finance Limited (Listed on the London Stock Exchange and on the Euronext Amsterdam Stock Exchange); Guaranteed Investment Products 1 PCC Limited (Listed on the Channel Islands Securities Exchange); and Spitfire Funds (Bermuda) Limited (Listed on the Bermuda Stock Exchange).

Mr Meader also holds a number of directorships in other companies that are not publicly quoted.

It is confirmed that there are no other details to be disclosed concerning Mr Meader under Listing Rule 9.6.13 R.

At the date of this announcement, Mr Meader has an interest in 11,000 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company. These shares, which represent a beneficial interest in the Company, are held through an investment holding company connected with Mr Meader.
