Issue of Ordinary Shares

Schroder Oriental Income Fund Limited (the "Company") has today issued a further 250,000 new Ordinary shares of £0.01 each for cash at a price of 202.82 pence per share under its block listing facility. The new shares rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares in issue.

Following this issue, the Company's issued Ordinary share capital consists of 184,989,500 ordinary shares, none of which are held in treasury. Accordingly, the total number of voting rights in the Company is 184,989,500.

The above figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
