Retirement of Director and Appointment of Successor Chairman

Schroder UK Mid Cap Fund plc (the "Company") announces that, as part of the ongoing refreshment of the Board, Mr Peter Timms will retire as a Director and Chairman of the Company with effect from 30 June 2014. Mr Eric Sanderson, a non-executive Director of the Company, will succeed Mr Timms as Chairman with effect from the same date.

Mr Timms has served as a non-executive Director of the Company since 1989 and as Chairman since 2000. The Directors would like to express their gratitude to Mr Timms for his commitment and leadership as Chairman and his substantial contribution to the deliberations of the Board and the success of the Company over the last 25 years.
