 LEGGMASON INVESTORS ENTERPRISE PLC

The Company announces that following the exercise of warrant subscription
rights, 126,844 ordinary shares of 25p each were allotted today. These new
shares rank pari passu in all respects with the Company's existing ordinary
shares.

As a result, the Company's ordinary share capital now stands at 24,348,822
ordinary shares of 25p each.

Following the exercise of the warrants, the Company now has 4,000,244 warrants
in issue.

Application is being made to the UK Listing Authority and to the London Stock
Exchange for these shares to be admitted to the Official List and to trading on
the London Stock Exchange and trading is expected to commence on 13 February
2001.
